Kilmarlic Golf Club (Powell's Point, NC)          2011                                                                                            19th Holes Staff Ranking: Two Golf Balls (Stuck in a Sand Bunker)

New to the collection of golf courses spread out near the Outer Banks of North Carolina is Kilmarlic Golf Club (located across the bridge from OBX) (host of the 2009 North Carolina Open).  Kilmarlic brings the golfer an option to play wider fairways and less wind than that found on the other OBX courses, but our staff still found it a tough track to tackle with plenty of water in play and undulating greens.

Upon visiting the 19th hole, otherwise known as 215 Westside, we found your typical  fare of food available at most golf courses including salads and sandwiches.  Anyone joining Kilmarlic for lunch or dinner would be best served by selecting one of their burgers (215 Westside's speciality) and enjoying them on the back porch overlooking the 9th green (see photo top right).

While our staff would have liked to have given Kilmarlic the designation of Three Golf Balls (a Birdie) for their 19th hole, it unfortunately doesn't hold up to some of the surrounding course 19th hole offerings and vistas.
