Half Moon Bay Golf Links  (Half Moon Bay, CA)    2012                                                                                           19th Holes Staff Ranking: Five Golf Balls (A Signature 19th Hole)

Set against the dramatic cliffs of the Pacific Ocean and located approximately 45 minutes from downtown San Francisco, you will find yourself at the Half Moon Bay Golf Links.  This location, with 36 holes of golf (Ocean Course by Arthur Hills and Old Course by Arnold Palmer), will leave you breathless while delivering a full day of challenging golf experiences before arriving upon one of the most picturesque 19th holes on the West Coast.  Hands down, Half Moon Bay Golf Links was one of the most unexpected surprises of our 2012 staff retreat.

The courses offer lunch and dinner via the Mullins Bar & Grill (so named in honor of local pro Moon Mullins).  At this restaurant, which is big enough to also host groupp outings, you will find a spectacular array of cuisine from Ahi Tuna Poke on sesame crisps for an appetizer to a full array of entrees such as Marinated Skirt Steak and Grilled Atlantic Salmon (with a white shallot mustard sauce).  At Mullins, you will also find an extensive list of draft/bottle beers plus wine.

For the true 19th hole experience, one must spend some time (especially at sunset) sitting on the patio restaurant of the Ritz Carlton hotel located next door (view from this patio is pictured in the bottom right photo).  With adirondack chairs and fresh ocean air, this is the penultimate location to enjoy a post round scotch and cigar.
